Salesforce Business Analyst Specialist

Location: Remote with light travel to client sites as needed

Reports To: Director of CRM Programs / Salesforce Product Owner / VP of Technology

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Salesforce Business Analyst & Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist with foundational project management experience to support the successful delivery of Salesforce initiatives across the organization. This hybrid role focuses on gathering and translating business requirements, validating system functionality, and ensuring high-quality releases within Salesforce ecosystems such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of business needs, user experience, and technical execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis (50%)

  • Partner with stakeholders across departments to elicit, define, and prioritize Salesforce requirements.
  • Document user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and configuration needs for enhancements, integrations, and new features.
  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and roadmap sessions with clear, actionable artifacts.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce developers and admins to ensure alignment of business requirements and system functionality.
  • Monitor user feedback and metrics post-implementation to identify opportunities for iteration and improvement.

Quality Assurance & Testing (40%)

  • Develop detailed QA test plans and test cases based on business requirements and user stories.
  • Execute functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for Salesforce enhancements and releases.
  • Identify, document, and manage defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Support test automation strategies and help define reusable testing templates and protocols.
  • Coordinate and guide business users through UAT cycles, ensuring signoff and readiness for production deployment.

Foundational Project Management Support (10%)

  • Maintain project timelines, task tracking, and coordination of deliverables using PM tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Jira).
  • Support sprint ceremonies (standups, retrospectives, demos) and manage documentation related to project status and requirements.
  • Help manage risks, dependencies, and cross-team communication in collaboration with the project or program manager.

Salesforce Ecosystem Focus:

  • Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or Health Cloud.
  • Familiarity with declarative Salesforce tools (flows, validation rules, reports/dashboards).
  • Understanding of data model, object relationships, and integration logic.
  • Exposure to sandbox management, deployment cycles, and release coordination.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or QA Analyst supporting Salesforce implementations.
  • Hands-on experience writing test cases, conducting UAT, and managing QA processes.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce data structure and declarative tools.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:

  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) or Business Analyst Certification.
  • Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodology.
  • Experience with QA tools such as Selenium, Provar, or test automation frameworks (a plus).
  • Prior experience in healthcare (a plus).
  • Familiarity with change management, training, or go-live planning processes.
